If someone asks you for a ride out of town and you suspect they might be running from the police, do you do it? Would Jesus?

I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Yes, I know, Jesus didn't have a car. But would he have shared his donkey?

hmmm. perhaps, honestly explain your hesitations/suspicions, and provide them a safe and understanding situation where they can explain their reasons to you. if they say they just need a ride, do it. trust them.

i think Jesus would already know whats really going, and would address the heart of the issue, which we unfortunately cant always see.

House Famous -- are you rebelling against society - order - justice.
Beware that you do not hide behind Christianity to live out your own rebellious nature of our society.
The 60"s are over my friends - get with it.

I think that Jesus would give him a ride. Because he was all about not judging people for sins. like it is not our position to judge people of their sins, but merely to love them. it's like that time with the adultress wife, and they were all going to stone her.

I think Jesus would have taken the driver in and talked to him so that his heart would be changed and his life saved. Then the person running would have chosen what to do, go back to the cops, similiar to zacheous paying back everything he owed and then some, or continue to run.

At the time we decided against giving our friends a ride as we didn't want to be implicated in their situation. Four months later, I still wouldn't give them a ride, but my reasons are different. I wouldn't want to enable them in their criminal activity and drug use, which is what happens when people don't experience the natural consequences of their actions. I think Grace has more power in the face of those consequences.
